Although the dotcom economy has leveled off, it's still in existence, and there are actually dotcoms out there making money. The Internet isn't going anywhere; it's just changing shape. As with anything new, there has to be a time of adjustment. This was the so-called "Internet boom," when money was flying free and easy, and dotcom millionaires were being minted every day, despite the fact that most of their companies weren't turning profits.
